If we didn’t miss our flight we never would have been able to try the amazingness that is Maharlika!  We haven’t been to a modern Filipino restaurant before so we were excited to try it!  We heard a lot of good things and were impressed by what we saw on Yelp.  I’ve also been craving some Filipino food and man was it a treat!

The Ube Waffles and Crispy Fried Chicken were incredible! The waffles were served with this insane bagoong and chives butter and a heavenly apricot maple syrup. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The chicken was yummy too…I mean…fried chicken and garlic fried rice!?!? Omg. The next time a friend from New York comes to visit SD…I will pay you to pack that shit up in a giant Tupperware and bring it with you!!!

Sizzling Sisig hot skillet with an egg mixed in and served table side. It’s food that plays with all of your senses. The sound of the sizzle as the waiter approaches your table. The smell wafts slowly towards you and takes you in. I’d get to the other senses but you get my point. Pair this orgasm in a skillet with garlic fried rice and you’re done. Just Done. DONE!

    Great report!

Now that you’re (hopefully somewhat) over your fear of flying. I hear Tokyo calling! ;)
