A Response
Hello Everyone! Thank you for your comments. I’m glad to know that I have readers that want to see my blog continue running.
Flickr responded with the following:
Hello,
Flickr account “tiggahtigz” was deleted by Flickr staff for
violating our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.www.flickr.com/guidelines.gne
URL watermarking images for an adult blog/website.
Flickr reserves the right to terminate your account without
warning at any time.
Nowhere in the guidelines does it mention the words “URL” and “watermarking”, and nor does it contain any phrase similar to the one they provided. I did not violate any of the terms set in the FLickr User Guidelines and so my account shouldn’t have been terminated. I responded 3 days ago saying so but have not yet received a response.
Bleh.
I am currently working on getting a domain and hosting. My only problem now is getting my site up and running. My web skills are not so great so I’ll need help with creating a member’s section. This section will provide members with a username and password that will grant them access to “special” content. Anyone know how to do that? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

January 13, 2009lol i dont think you wanna use flicker anyways bud. You do know that when you post something on flicker as a host it owns the property to it right, and the rights to it are for them to use?
Which means if you post artwork, yourself, or any other form of media they have the right to sell it leaving you with nothing. lol
Just thought you should know.. its in the little agreement thing.
lol but on a lighter note sorry to hear about the little conundrum

January 13, 2009Creating user-accounts is something done by the security module of the server you’re running. If you plan to run server-software on your desktop-system, I’d advice to take a look at ‘sambar’ (Apache compatible). This server is cheap and has almost all modules to create your own web2 site. It is very easy to set-up (great for starters) but if you need any help setting it up, let me know (monsieurlepoof at yah..) and I might be of some help.

January 13, 2009Have a Mac? Get a Mobile Me account for it. Design your site with iWeb, host your site with mobile me. Get your own domain name at godaddy.com.
You can do passwords and private content with a few clicks too.

January 13, 2009As an IT major, I recommend using getting a web server with Aplus.net I’ve been a customer of them for about 3 years and I’ve been really happy with them. You get a lot of space and bandwidth for a relatively good price. My plan right now is $9.95 a month and a once a year domain renewal at around $30 I believe. But the plans are different now, so you might want to check into that.
As for a blog, I recommend using WordPress. You can install WordPress manually by downloading the files are WordPress.org, or you can use Aplus.net’s control panel to install it. Aplus automatically installs it for you. I’m not sure what the latest version Aplus offers, because sometimes it’s a version prior to the latest. I run WordPress 2.7, which is the latest version, but I manually installed it myself. Of course, there are really great tutorials on WordPress.org that will help you install it. If you do choose to install it manually, I suggest to install via Aplus.net with whichever version they offer first, so that the MySQL database can be created, then download the WordPress files from WordPress.com (so that you have the latest version), and manually upload via FTP.
WordPress offers some really great features and you can customize it to the fullest. Creating user IDs is as simple as a snap and you can post private posts as well, however only you can see them. To solve this problem, you can install plugins for WordPress. I recommend using WP Sentry. I use this to customize the user level of this post. For example, you can a group that can only see the “special” content once they’re logged in. Users not logged in will not see any of the “special” content.
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to help you out: zigrag23(at)gmail(.com).
I would like to see a future blog from you as I always follow it. It’s always interesting to read about.

January 13, 2009If Flickr has a problem with the content of any of its member’s account, it should at least suspend the account and give the member an opportunity to resolve the issue, or pull his/her pictures down (and save them). The way Flickr handled this was TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL.

January 19, 2009Every gay website I’ve been regularly visiting is being shut down. Homo Superior is gone; I’m not sure that was a flickr issue, but assume it was caused by posting male frontal nudity.
By the way, I’m going to Thailand, Pattaya, on a sextravaganza vacation next month, 13th to 23rd. I’d love to take you along; you wouldn’t even have to “put out”, as there’s so much else on offer.
