SAN DIEGO PRIDE 2011
Was pretty much frikkin awesome! I had the most amazing time! Pooh and I spent the weekend with good friends and just had so much fun everywhere we went.
I am a firm believer of the saying, “it’s not where you’re at it’s who you’re with that matters”. I’m so happy to have these crazy people in my life. Sometimes I wish I recorded video of us and our friends so I can share the most funny and craziest things that we say and do.
We were pretty much everywhere this weekend. If you follow my Twitter you probably already knew that.
Friday night we drank at our place, went to our friend’s house for a little huge party, walked around Hillcrest, and went back to our friend’s house to party some more.
Saturday was a blur. Since the parade was going on in our back yard, our friends met up early at our house to have some cocktails before frolicking in the street. We watched the parade a bit, barely, and went into Rich’s. It’s so weird being in there during the day…but we still had an amazing time! The DJ playing in the outside area was awesome and funny. We then walked over to the festival in Balboa park, which felt like the longest walk in the world! We hung out for the rest of the day and walked around. We also stuffed our faces! Gotta love the L&L Hawaiian BBQ tent! I got me some Kalua Pork (I don’t know how to spell the name of the dish and am too lazy to Google it).
After another long as fuck walk back to our place in Hillcrest, we rested and recharged our batteries – both metaphorically and also, our phones. We split up so everyone can go home, shower, and change for the night time festivities. We went to Rich’s and goddamn the line was ridiculously long! After waiting in line for an hour and a half, we finally got in around 11:30 and got our Pride Party started! We danced the night away and had so much fun.
Sunday was much more relaxed than Saturday. Surprisingly, I was able to function. Good thing I drank lots of water! We started our day with a delicious brunch at Ortegas. We met up with some friends at Fiesta Cantina afterwards but didn’t stay too long. We felt like hopping around so we went from Cantina, to The Hole, to The Loft, to Baby Cakes, to Mo’s, and found ourselves enjoying cocktails and body rolling at Eden. After Eden we went to the Festival in Balboa Park to watch Frenchie and Salt & Peppa perform. It was great! We had a nice spot in the grass to sit back and relax while we enjoyed the show. We got up to dance when Salt & Peppa performed though.
After the Festival we were pretty much exhausted. I couldn’t party much longer so we went home and called it a night. Right when I hit my bed I just knocked out! Definitely was the most satisfying and refreshing sleep I’ve had in a long time!
Any of you go to SD Pride? I hope you had as much fun as I did if you went. :) I’m kind of sad I didn’t take as many pictures as I normally would.
