Depressed
I’m so upset right now. Flickr deleted my flickr account! :( I have always been good at moderating the content on my account and making certain images private. I also only use the account for personal use and for my blog…which is not for commercial use since I’m not selling anything. I paid for a pro account and still had a couple months before it expired. I sent them an email asking why my account was deleted so hopefully I’ll get a response soon. Most likely I’ll get a generic message saying it was removed because I violated terms set in their user guidelines. I am so upset because all of my photos were saved on my flickr. It’s like erasing my memory of all the special moments in life. :(

January 9, 2009Maybe you should keep all your pictures in a safe place, like a computer or something… In case this kind of situation happens again…
But I’m sure flicker made a mistake and in the end it’s gonna be fine…

January 9, 2009Hopefully it is not deleted, just disabled for some reason.
However like Constantin said, I hope you still have ur pics on your harddisk (or burned DVDs) … never trust a third-party with all your precious data! (even paid, accidents happen)

January 9, 2009Make sure you demand a 100% refund and blog about this injustice often. Flickr is appearantly ran by conservative homophobes… I bet accounts featuring naked women don’t get deleted.

January 9, 2009I have found flickr to be quite reasonable when it comes to solving issues over content. Keep on following up any response you get back from them.
My flickr is deemed unsafe – go check it yourselves to see how unsafe you consider it. What it came down to was my previous flickr icon was from one of my images, which in fairness could have been deemed unsafe, and there is no control over safety settings of the icon.
Hopefully the worst outcome will be you having to remove any “unsuitable” content from your account.
Hope it works out well for you, its heartbreaking to lose a photo archive – I had 18 months of my life swiped from me when I had my laptop stolen.

January 9, 2009Holly Crap. I hope this gets resolved in an amicable way with Flickr. I hope they will let you get your pictures back if nothing else.
Hope all is well after the car accident.
I keep all of my pictures on Picassa Web albums and an external 1.5TB HD. Good luck.

January 9, 2009Tiggs,
If you can’t re-cover your Flickr photos, you might try sending an email to your friends asking them to send any photos of you they might have saved from Flickr or other sources.
Regards,
Hazen

January 10, 2009Really sucks, tig, and not in a good way.
I wonder how I’ve managed to stay out of their sights? With pictures of gypsies, tramps, thieves and rent boys? Makes no sense.

January 29, 2009Hey Tiggah, why not try Yahoo or Google Groups?
I believe they don’t discriminate against adult content for as long as you classify it properly.
Photobucket and picturetrail could also serve as a temporary home…
